The SLETP offers a comprehensive package of audio-visual services for the benefit of environmental educators, trainers, media professionals, television broadcasters and NGOs.

Our aim is to be a one-step service provider from where you can obtain communications planning advice, production and technical services, distribution support as well as high quality television and video material for a variety of uses.

During the past years, we have been associated with a diverse range of activities in information, communication and education on environment, development, health and human rights. All these are for public education purposes; we do not engage in commercial advertising or product endorsement.

Our most prominent services are the Science and Environmental Video Library, and the video production service. The other services available from SLETP are:

• Environmental film archive and footage service: We provide television stations and TV production houses with access to a wide range of high quality environment and development footage contained in TVE Asia Pacific films and SLETP’s own productions. A large number of natural history scenes and historically valuable video material are available. This service, offered on easy terms and backed by information and advice on environmental topics, is being increasingly used by television news producers and documentary film-makers.
  
  
• Versioning of foreign programmes into local languages: Since 1995, we have versioned into Sinhala or Tamil a large number of outstanding video programmes from all over the world. Some of these are now available for sale as compilations, and all have been added to our Video Library. Versioning is done through voice-dubbing or sub-titling, and we use the services of versatile script translators, radio voice artistes and dubbing/sub-titling technicians. • Video Distribution: We have a well-organised distribution service that can handle the distribution of any factual or educational programme within Sri Lanka. We already distribute films not only for TVE Asia Pacific, but for other organisations like ITDG Sri Lanka, Media South Asia Project, and TVE Japan. Distribution of a video title includes it being added to the Video Library, and also being promoted through the Video Sales Service. Each title is tracked on a quarterly and annual basis, and distribution data is provided to the original owners of the material.
